How does it work? |
The concept is simple—you have a problem, need, or questions? Just call SVV. Essentially a “one-call-does-it-all” phone number, the Village service allows members to talk to one person about all of their needs, whether they’re looking for transportation, health and wellness services, home repairs, or social and educational activities. Then the member coordinator researches the appropriate affordable or free services and facilitates access.

|
This model for community building is not a new one. It is already in effect in about 140 communities throughout the U.S. SVV is a member of the Village to Village Network, a non-profit organization that help communities establish and maintain their own villages.
|
What does a Village do? |
As a “Time Bank” member, the hours you spend providing services to other members or to the village earns service credits for yourself!
|
Does it cost to be a member?
Yes, an affordable annual fee is charged to help cover administrative expenses.
This effort has been initiated by Farida Zaid, former Director of the Union-Snyder Area Agency on Aging, Steering Committee Members, and community volunteers.
